Leaders committed to creating a more equitable food system in Denver

Robbie Rosenthal (he/him)

Board President

Robbie Rosenthal was born and raised in Minnesota and moved to Denver in 2018. After earning his BA in Government and Politics, and a MPP with a concentration in Management, Finance, and Leadership from the University of Maryland, he started working in healthcare software and now is a management consultant. He also is an avid traveler, cook, and photographer.  Robbie has a passion for making a difference in the communities around him and is proud to serve on the DFR Board to help make more equitable communities, strive for food security, and believes in constant learning and improvement.

Lilia Chavez (she/her)

Secretary

Lilia Chavez Bernal was born in Mexico City but has lived in Colorado since she was seven. So, Denver is home. As the eldest daughter of Mexican immigrants, Lilia has lived-experience of poverty and nutrition insecurity that drove her to become a Registered Dietitian. By day, Lilia works in public health programs that tackle inefficiencies in the local food system. By night you can find Lilia playing volleyball, salsa dancing, or relaxing with a book.

Erik Conroy (he/him)

Treasurer

Erik was born and raised in Colorado Springs and lived in the Bay Area, Chicago and Seattle before returning to Denver in 2021. Erik has a BS in Architectural Lighting from the University of Colorado, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and has spent the majority of his career in professional services helping clients through transformational change and in HR Leadership roles.  Erik enjoys skiing, hiking and taking his labradoodle on a variety of Colorado outdoor adventures. Erik joined the DFR board to make a meaningful impact in the health and well being of the Denver community, and to help the organization deliver on its unique approach to addressing food accessibility.

Francis Cheung (she/her)

Francis was born in Hong Kong and raised in Denver. She earned a master’s degree at the University of Denver in international disaster psychology and has experience in and is passionate about building capacity in small nonprofit agencies. Francis joined the DFR board because she believes healthy and culturally inclusive foods are for everyone and is passionate about building food systems that support equitable practices. In her free time, Francis enjoys racing triathlons, cross-country skiing with her goldendoodle and trying out different restaurants in Denver.

David Millis (he/him)

David grew up in Dallas, but has lived in Colorado for 40 years, and in Curtis Park / Five Points since 2007.  His career was in tech, including software development and large scale data analytics, but he is recently retired.  He is passionate about cycling, engaging with and helping neighbors, improving bike infrastructure and street safety, renewable energy, and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.  David enjoys serving on the Board, and as a DFR volunteer, delivering food on DFR’s fleet of awesome e-cargo bikes with trailers.  David is proud to support DFR’s vision of food equity and community engagement.

Brian Cristobal (he/him)

Brian is originally from North Carolina, but has been in Denver since 2019.  Brian has a BS in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University and has been working in healthcare technology for 16 years.  Brian enjoys running, skiing, hiking, motorcycling, and taking his senior puppy on adventures.  Brian started volunteering with DFR in 2022 after seeing the bikes pass him while on a run on the Platte River trail.  With a firm belief that everyone deserves a healthy meal, Brian aims to reduce food waste and support the friends and neighbors in the Denver community.
