Ratio Beerworks has teamed up with Denver Food Rescue as part of their 12 Days of Giving campaign, to throw a Soup Showdown featuring some of Denver’s top chefs competing to create the best soup using parts of foods that are often unnecessarily discarded. The goal is to encourage the reduction of food waste while also supporting a tremendous organization.
Soups will be judged by attendees and a panel of experts on overall taste, aroma, presentation and use of foods parts that are often discarded.
The event, taking place on Sunday, Dec 17 from 2-5pm (2920 Larimer St. 80205), will feature chefs from The Regional, Comal Heritage Food Incubator, Tamayo, and The Preservery. The event will be open to the public to attend and will also serve as a Dried Food Item Drive for Denver Food Rescue’s No Cost Grocery Programs. Attendees who bring a dried food item (eg. rice, oats, nuts, beans) as a donation or give a $5 donation to DFR will be able to join in tasting samples of each soup and weigh-in on judging.
Additionally we’ll be selling tickets benefitting DFR and raffling off gift cards to the participating restaurants as well as to any Edible Beats family restaurant.
