The Dedicated Individuals Driving our Mission Forward!

Jamie Anderson (they/she)

Executive Director

“Hi, my name is Jamie Anderson, and I’m excited to have become ‘Mr Manager’ here at DFR. I was born and raised in Denver. I became a volunteer with DFR in 2016 and started working here full-time in July 2020. My background is in research about food systems and past environmental and climate change. I love all the people I get to meet and work with as part of my role.”

Maya Blasingame (she/her/ella)

Programs Operations Manager

“Hi there! I’m Maya, a passionate community organizer, advocate, and activist serving as the Programs Operations Manager with Denver Food Rescue. 🌟
With a heartfelt commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community, I’m dedicated to organizing events and speaking on panels for universities and local LGBTQIA+ nonprofits. I also have had the incredible opportunity to advocate at the state level, helping pass 4 laws that create equity for the LGBTQIA+ community in Colorado.

Originally from California, I moved back to sunny Denver in 2022, bringing my experience from working in Fertility Pharmacy and co-leading the employee resource group “PROUD,” where I advocated for the LGBTQIA+ community at a corporate level. My journey has always been about helping others and creating inclusive spaces where everyone can thrive. ️‍🌈 With my roots in Denver, I am thrilled to give back to the local communities I call home through my role at Denver Food Rescue.

Growing up using food banks ignited my passion for contributing to causes that fight food insecurity in Denver. 🍎  I am committed to making sure my talents are used to give back and help end food insecurity in our wonderful city.”

Eve Zook (she/her)

Volunteer Coordinator

“Hi! My name is Eve Zook. I was born and raised in Colorado Spring and moved to Denver to attend the University of Colorado. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Geography with an emphasis in environment, society and sustainability. During my studies I found my passion for sustainable agriculture, food equity and climate justice. I have been working within the food access scene in Denver for the past year and a half, and look forward to being a part of the DFR team.

In my free time you can find me walking my dog in Cheesman Park, at my garden or watching a movie!”

Isabel Weber Alatorre (she/her/ella)

Food Access Manager

Hello! My name is Isabel Weber Alatorre, and I am the Food Access Manager for Denver Food Rescue. I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and came to Colorado to go to Colorado State University. I graduated with my bachelors degree in Political Science with a minor in Spanish Language and Literature. I grew up volunteering in food rescues and food banks with my dad who worked for the Food Bank Council of Michigan. At CSU, I worked for Rams Against Hunger, the campus food pantry and found my passion for social welfare policy, specifically food insecurity policy. Here at DFR I get to connect with food donors, manage the Fresh Food Connect youth courier program, and advocate for food access policies!

Max Julien (he/him)

Volunteer Coordinator

“Hi, my name is Max Julien; I’ve lived in Denver my whole life, educated at North Highschool and the Auraria campus. I started as a bike volunteer with DFR in July 2020. I did weekly food rescue shifts for nearly two years before being hired part-time in June 2022. Today as a full time Volunteer Coordinator: I fill in on shifts, assist volunteers, and ensure operations run smoothly on weekends. Also, as a huge bike nerd, it’s been great to handle the responsibility of ensuring our trailers are in good working order, and our e-bikes are charged and ready.”
